I had so many bloggy ideas for this month but God has others. Guess who’s hard drive took a dump this morning? This girl’s. I am blogging from my phone which is tough on the eyes but at least I’m not totally cut off. I apologize in advance for the spelling errors!
I wanted to tell you how much fun the self portrait challenge was yesterday and how kind you all are. You all make me very happy, just so you know.
Since that was so fun,I have another challenge coming from fat mum slim who has been making monthly photo lists for us to follow. It provides great direction for documenting life. It’s a not so random list of things to photograph and since it’s already day 3, I apologize for not sharing this sooner. I’ll be posting my photos here as I go, or you can see them on Facebook if you want. I love taking pictures of my kids and my old man dog but this pushes that idea a little bit and helps capture the little everyday things. For instance, today’s subject is hands. We often take pictures of our kids’ faces, but who of us won’t be really happy to have a picture of our kids’ chubby baby paws when they’re all grown up and have calluses and hangnails.
Every photo we take has a story and whether it’s a cell phone shot or a beautiful artistic black and white from your super fancy camera, each is important in it’s own way.
I took a picture of my own hand which is not cute, but I have had a paintbrush in my hand for days working on little things for Mad’s room. I wanted to capture that so maybe someday she’ll remember fondly how we worked together on these projects. Hands mean so much. I’m sure a lot of us could close our eyes right now and picture our mother’s hands. They’ve held us, prepared our food, wiped our tears, played UNO with us, and whatever other millions of things mothers do. So maybe today you could take a picture of your hands so that someday your children can look at it and experience a flood of sweet memories.
