I have been really touched by a developing blog called Beautifully Rooted. It is the most lovely community of supportive blogging women who are doing what they can to become what God wants them to be by sharing ideas, inspiration, and love. I have enjoyed the posts by all the contributors and have spent all week getting excited for their first photo link up titled “found”. The idea is to take a photo of somewhere we have seen God in our week. Here’s mine:
Today was beautiful in every way. The San Diego sun was warm and cheerful this morning so I opened my windows and let the smells of the coming Spring seep in my house. I baked cookie bars and had a couple of my oldest dearest friends over and we visited, shared, and laughed while admiring each other’s darling little ones. It was one of those perfect mornings when I didn’t care how dirty my house was or how much laundry I had to do, the earth smelled good, my children were happy, and I couldn’t help but feel God’s presence with me. In those moments I feel so blessed, so peaceful, and so alive. I love the company of friends, the sweetness of laughter, and seeing independent children I have watched grow from moving beings in their mama’s bellies to little people, healthy and whole. When I went outside to see my friends off, I noticed my first freesia of the Spring blooming. The baby and I crouched down and drank in it’s lovely scent. I was reminded of God’s faithfulness to me and his promise to us in Luke 12:27, “Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of them.” At the end of this day, I am at peace. But I do need to clean up a little now!

Lovely.
Sounds like a perfectly wonderful day, and what a great reminder to not worry and trust in His faithfulness.
